After its premiere in 2005 Edinburgh International Festival, Blackbird soon became popular aound the world. Boldly challenging taboos about morals, power, innocence, human growth, sexuality, and guilt, it is like a contemporary version of Lolita. With two experienced actors in a space of three-sided projection, it creates an atmosphere of magic realism. Dark Eyes’ Blackbird premiere in Guandu Arts Festival was well-acclaimed, and then it went on a tour to play in Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung.
